Mohammedan SC are in talks with Kerala Blasters FC over a loan move for Lalthanmawia Renthlei, also known as Amawia. The player joined the Blasters in the summer, but he hasn’t had many opportunities. He and his representatives are looking at a loan move in search of more playing time.

Mohammedan SC has expressed an interest in loaning Amawia for the remainder of the season as they seek to turn things around in the second half of the season. A source close to the movement noted, “Talks are underway with Mohammedan SC over a loan move. The talks are still in their early stages, and there is nothing concrete at the moment.”
After rising through Aizawl FC’s ranks, Amawia was promoted to the senior squad for the 2021 campaign. Last season in the I-League versus Namdhari FC, he drew a lot of attention for his amazing free kick. Three seasons after playing for the People’s club, the 22-year-old winger made the decision to move south and sign a three-year contract with the Blasters. However, his start with the Blasters hasn’t been what he would have hoped for.

Amawia only made it into the matchday squad once in twelve games under former head coach Mikael Stahre and played zero minutes. It almost felt like he wasn’t in Stahre’s plans at all. However, since Tomasz Tchorz and TG Purushothaman took over as interim head coaches, Amawia has appeared three times in three games. Also, it appears that Amawia will play a significant role coming off the bench. With outgoings, injuries, and suspensions looming for the Blasters, he might start games and play an important role in the team’s second half of the season.
Mohammedan SC’s season so far:

Mohammedan, who are now at the bottom of the league standings, has had an unforgettable season thus far. They have earned two vital points in their past two games against Northeast United and Odisha, but it is clear that they might strive for more success with a slightly better team. Even if the discussions are still preliminary and not complete, adding someone like Amawia could improve their struggling attack. They’ve also signed strikers Manvir Singh and Robi Hansda.
