Jamshedpur FC lost 5-2 against Chennaiyin FC at the Marina Arena in a crucial match for them to keep their dreams of finishing in the top four alive. Despite leading in the first half, Chennaiyin FC emerged victorious. This is what Khalid Jamil had to say shortly after the defeat.
Khalid Jamil on the leaky defense:
Jamshedpur FC’s defence has been fairly vulnerable this season. They have surrendered 43 goals this season, making them the league’s third worst defense. In order to shield his players, Khalid Jamil accepted full responsibility for the subpar defense.

“Everybody is working very hard. I don’t have to blame the player; I take the blame. It is totally my mistake. I don’t know, I cannot give any prediction right now (on whether Lazar & Eze will start in playoffs).”
Khalid Jamil on missing out top four:
With this defeat, Jamshedpur FC has lost the chance to place in the top four and host the playoff match. Looking at their record this season, they have fared significantly better at home than away from home. Khalid Jamil spoke on losing the chance to play at home.

“It is a big blow. But if you look at the way we have played the last three games, it is not up to the mark. Actually, we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. We have to accept it. But we are there, we’ll see. Now we have time, we’ll recover.”
