Rajasthan United part ways with Walter Caprile!

Rajasthan United FC have parted ways with head coach Walter Caprile

Before the 2024–25 I-League season began, Walter was appointed as Rajasthan United’s new head coach. They made several big moves in the transfer market, bringing talented players like Saido Berahino (who later left the club). Rajasthan United, led by Walter Caprile and with a few high-profile players, hoped for a successful season that would put them in the running for a promotion to the ISL.

Rajasthan United got out to a bad start, losing three of their first four games and only picking up three points. Walter was given several good signings, such as Monirul Molla, Samuel Kynshi, Givson Singh, and some more overseas signings, to help turn the season around. Since then, they’ve gone 10 games undefeated in the league, with four victories and six draws, accumulating a total of 18 points.

Since then, they have only won one of their previous four games, and things have become worse once again. The team is now 10 points behind leaders Inter Kashi and in eighth position. With promotion to the ISL all but gone, the club ultimately chose to part ways with the Uruguayan head coach.

What next for Rajasthan United?

Indian assistant coach Vikas Rawat has been appointed as interim head coach of Rajasthan United FC.

With Caprile gone, the club has announced that Indian assistant coach Vikas Rawat would take over on interim basis for the remainder of the season. The club would hope that the team will put up a good fight in the remaining games and finish as high as possible in the league standings.
