Better Late Than Never:

The Blasters have been mostly M.I.A. since the uncertainty hit and the fans and the team alike took the blow, as departure of key players like Jesus Jimenez has left the club without players in some key positions while the fans had to suffer in silence and watch as the interest waned for many, with the further delays about the uncertainty of the 2025 Indian Super League. However, the 2025 Super Cup has offered both the club and its fans a chance to get back into the thick of it, with Kerala Blasters reportedly looking to fill their Foreign Contingent before the Super Cup and with the fans getting a chance to watch their club again in action after a long time.
The upcoming Super Cup tournament also serves as a spiritual kickoff to the 25/26 season for the club and the fans, as the club didn’t participate in this season’s Durand Cup, citing the uncertainty surrounding ISL. The fans will be expecting nothing short of a good run in the Super Cup and would also be nonetheless excited to see the new faces for the club and how Catala would line them up.
Fun Fact: This will be David Catala’s Second Tournament in charge of the Blasters, with the first one also being the Super Cup (2024).
