In a shocking yet expected news, Kerala Blasters have announced their first major departure stemming from the ongoing ISL uncertainty – that of the Portuguese forward Tiago Alves. Alves, the most anticipated signing of the season for the Blasters, has now terminated his contract with the club via a mutual agreement between the two parties. Tiago ends his Blasters journey with 2 appearances for the club (both in the recently concluded Super Cup) with 68 minutes of total time on the field in a Blasters jersey, leaving millions of fans left desiring what could’ve been.
Obrigado, Tiago.
The Beginning of The End?

With the recent departures of ISL veterans like Borja Herrera and Javier Siverio from FC Goa, Tiago’s departure was more of a shock rather than a surprise with the ISL restart looming nowhere near the horizon, thanks to… You know who.
The ‘artificial’ or in layman’s terms, ‘man-made’ impasse has been going on for too long and is yet not resolved, thanks to the incompetence of arrogantly overconfident officials whose plans for the ISL still have no style nor substance backing it up, says fans of Indian Football who feel the ongoing saga to be ‘torturously moronic’ and officials behavior as ‘apathetic’ as they have been waiting for a kick-off whistle that last shrilled 262 days ago.
The deadlock is yet to be broken in this game of meetings as it nears to a possible sudden death if nothing happens in time. The concerns of the clubs and the fears of the fans are more than valid as even the latest meetings doesn’t assure even a mud road ahead for the football fraternity in the country in the present let alone for the future due to it’s lack of even ‘myopic’ clarity over crucial aspects of broadcast and organization along with the ever increasing financial burden for the clubs to be involved, ensuring total chaos and enhancing the pessimistic image around the federation.
The departure of City Football Group, arguably, the biggest and richest football conglomerate in the world has also led to increased dread among the fans, with many fearing that their childhood clubs ceasing to exist is a certainty that could follow this yet-to-be resolved uncertainty and all we can do is hope and pray that the misjudgement of a few men may not become the event that leads to the end of the lifelines of many.
This was partially a fan-rant, and I hope and I pray that I would never have to write the same subheading again as a heading on another article of the same context.
