Yes, you heard it right – the Blasters’ skipper, the Uruguayan Magician is set to the leave the club due to the uncertainty in the start of the next ISL season – shocking but true, now I know a lot of Blasters fans are having a mini heart-attack while reading this but thankfully his long-term contract with the club has allowed the option for the club legend to try out a loan deal abroad while the chaos here gets.. well.. hopefully settled.. amicably.
A Shocking Start to the New Year

Luna’s departure wasn’t a news the Blasters fanbase were expecting or even praying not to see when they opened the social media this morning, but his departure, being a loan move, gives some hope to the fans that they can see their beloved icon in yellow again in Kochi when the dust around the league finally settles.
However, the same cannot be said for rest of the Blasters foreign roster or even for a lot of ISL foreigners in general, as many of them are here one year deals, which more or less leaves contract termination and a fresh start somewhere else as the most plausible solution, and as things stand, more foreign players are expected to leave ISL clubs in this January Window as a quick and amicable solution to restarting the league seems more and more like a pipedream as time drags on.
Hopefully, the heart of Indian Football gets restarted before it’s too late, and the only thing remaining is a skeleton of what it used to be.
Also, wishing a very ‘Happy New Year’ to all of our readers 🙂
